Brian Bachmann Professor Williams November 22 nd , 2023 Perspectives in The Humanities Describe the selected work. For my work I selected the Ford Model T automobile. Produced from October 1 st , 1908, to May 26 th , 1927, the Model T was recognized as the first mass affordable automobile making car travel available to the middle class. The Model T was introduced at a time when the alternative for automobile travel was considered too expensive for the common man and far to unreliable for the condition of the roadways at that time to be considered safe. Describe the time period. The Model T was introduced to the public when the only alternative was a far too expensive and unreliable automobile. The first modern cars were made in Germany in 1885 by Karl Benz, and the first American made automobile was made in Springfield, Massachusetts in 1893. The first Model T was built on August 12 th , 1908, a few years later the Model T was made available to the public until May 26 th , 1927. Determine the culture of the work and describe its value. The culture surrounding the Model T is that of innovation and creative solutions. The Model T came into production at a time in America when automobile travel was thought to be too expensive and unreliable. With the introduction of the Model T in 1908, it quickly became the
most affordable and mass-produced automobile in America. The Model T was an engineering marvel as it was much more affordable for American families and much more reliable and safer than the alternatives. Offering generous ground clearance, the Model T was perfectly suited to handle the bumpy conditions of the roadways. This ground clearance made the Model T more appealing to rural drivers. Model T .
