(
Note: boxes will expand as you type
):
What Christlike Attribute did you choose to work on and why did you choose to work on that particular
Christlike attribute at this time in your life?
I chose to work on patience because it reflects the ability to endure trials, setbacks, and challenges with
calm and composed behavior. Patience is also seen as an expression of faith, trust, and a willingness to
wait for God's timing.
As you have studied the Book of Mormon, what passages or truths have helped you to think about your
chosen attribute (please include references to the passages).
Mosiah 3:19:
"For the natural man is an enemy to God, and has been from the fall of Adam, and will be, forever
and ever, unless he yields to the enticings of the Holy Spirit, and putteth off the natural man and
becometh a saint through the atonement of Christ the Lord, and becometh as a child, submissive,
meek, humble, patient, full of love, willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict
upon him, even as a child doth submit to his father."
Alma 7:23:
"And now I would that ye should be humble, and be submissive and gentle; easy to be entreated;
full of patience and long-suffering; being temperate in all things; being diligent in keeping the
commandments of God at all times; asking for whatsoever things ye stand in need, both spiritual
and temporal; always returning thanks unto God for whatsoever things ye do receive."
Both verses ask us to be humble, patient, and trusting during hard times.
How did you measure and record your efforts/progress regularly over the last few weeks?
I assigned a score or rating to each recorded situation, indicating the level of patience demonstrated, for
example, on a scale of 1 to 5, 1 being impatience and 5 being high patience.
Which of your goals was most effective in helping you understand or grow in your chosen attribute?
Why
do you think that was so?
Goal: Document moments of impatience and track progress by recording at least two situations daily
where patience was exercised instead of reacting without thinking.
Seeing missteps and progress visually helped me avoid the same mistakes and improve my reaction to
different scenarios.
How will this experience influence or change what you will do from this point forward in your life?
Improved Decision-Making:
Patience allows me to take the time needed to gather information, consider alternatives, and make
thoughtful decisions. It reduces impulsivity and promotes a more measured and deliberate
approach to choices.
Stress Reduction:
Patience can be a powerful cure to stress. By accepting that some things are beyond my
immediate control and trusting in God's timing, I can experience greater peace and resilience in
facing challenges.
