The lesson is to be introduced by reading the book
to the class, the students and teacher can then share and expand on their ideas of a variety
of diverse types of culture and diverse backgrounds within the world and their local
communities.
What are the challenges in using this resource?
Challenges that can exist in this activity may
include low concentration level or no interest in the reading, the book can be delivered in
audio style either on an interactive white board or CD to encourage further interest and
engagement.
How do you know this resource is useful/relevant to this grade level and discipline area?
This resource relates to the teaching of geography and relates to the discipline areas as it
explores geography, analyses, and dissects the wonders and characteristics of places in the
world. Acknowledging different environments, spaces, change and sustainability (ACARA,
(2018).
What will the students learn through using/engaging with this resource?
this activity will
enhance students understanding of how different people around the world, Australia and
our community can hold a lot of similarities and difference between one another. They will
notice and understands mutual feelings connections people have with one another (ACARA,
(2018).
Name of History resource: we remember Anzac
In what ways will you use this resource?
The activity will begin by presenting the Anzac
PowerPoint to the class. It is an inquiry-based activity, once the presentation is finished the
students should be placed into groups of 2-3 to discuss what they thought about the
presentation and the purpose of it. The whole class is to discuss their findings and each
group gets to go up and to present their thoughts on the board.
What are the challenges in using this resource?
Challenges for this resource can include
students being affected by the learning content and it could be confronting for some
students to experience. Its crucial for educators to acknowledge different types of
background and culture in the room to ensure that all children feel welcome safe and
secure.
How do you know this resource is useful/relevant to this grade level and discipline area?
This activity allows students to commemorate and understand the importance and impact of
Anzac Centenary. It lets them understand past historical impacts and how it has led to the
development of Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand.
What will the students learn through using/engaging with this resource?
Students will learn that historical sites tell a story and the impact that they have on the
present, future, and their community. Understanding the change, cause, and effect with
diverse perspectives (ACARA, (2018).

In what ways will you use this resource?
Through this activity students are to create, and
role play their very own parliament house. They will begin by choosing a topic of discussion
that relates to both the curriculum and them to get the discussion flowing (eg: should school
uniform be worn?) they will then proceed to develop this topic as a new bill or law followed
with a debate. Once the debate is over, the class should then reflect on their findings.
Students can inquire and dissect how certain laws and bills are introduce within the
parliament sector.
What are the challenges in using this resource?
Challenges from this activity may include
difficulty in understanding parliament grammar, thermology or roles. The students should
have a basic understanding of certain roles and titles in parliament to help assist them with
this activity.
How do you know this resource is useful/relevant to this grade level and discipline area?
This activity relates to the content descriptor as it allows the students to investigate the
process of how new laws and bills are developed and passed. Understanding the roles of
certain parliament titles and underrating the role of how the public service impacts
legislations

What will the students learn through using/engaging with this resource?
This resource is relevant as it explains and works through the process of creating bills and
legislations through a hands-on role play experience, fostering students understanding of

In what ways will you use this resource?
The educator will introduce the activity by
discussing clothes and materials with the class, from this a series of questions should be
asked to get ideas flowing. Online clothing stores or catalogues can be viewed, and they are
to select an outfit for the weekend staying in the given budget. Once an outfit is picked out,
the student is then to interview each other to collect data and their reasoning in selecting
certain products. Findings are to be shared with the class.
What are the challenges in using this resource?
Challenges to cater for this activity is to
acknowledge that all children learn differently and to take children with any learning
difficulties or additional needs into consideration when planning for this lesson, by
acknowledging these factors, the educator can then cater and plan the lesson around their
needs so that they are able to reach the achievement level expectations.
How do you know this resource is useful/relevant to this grade level and discipline area?
This money smart activity allows students to further investigate deeper into the concept of
consumer products and how it influences 10–12-year-old consumers to purchase such
products in their daily life. Through this activity, students can share and expand their
thoughts and experiences of what influenced their purchase choices. Students will be able to
conduct and analyse certain types of data and will obtain the disposition in understanding
that cost is a very crucial component when deciding to make purchases.
What will the students learn through using/engaging with this resource?
It will enhance questioning and problem solving and they will begin to acknowledge that the
cost of materials and resources involved and how that can affect the overall total cost.
therefore, becoming more money smart and enhancing their awareness of product
consumption and production.
