Personal Motivation
The motivation that drives me to pursue this master’s degree is to be a football coach, but
in order to be a football coach at a high school or middle school I must have a teacher degree. The coaches I had growing up had a huge impact on me as I grew up in a single parent household. I wanted to have that same impact on other students. I want to teach them both in the classroom and on the football field. I want them to know that they always have someone in their corner rooting for them to be the best. Curricular and Professional Progression Requirements
Within my state of Missouri since my graduate degree is out of state I will have to submit
forms of proof of my completed academic achievement. As well as a letter of recommendation from my attended university. If I do choose to receive a Arizona teaching license it will take a few steps out of the process of applying for a teaching license in Missouri (education, 2023)
.
Promoting Ethical Practice
As an educator I must live my teaching career through the model code of ethics in order to be the best educator that I can be. I must follow these principles in order to make the proper decision making within and out of the classrooms as I will be a role model and teacher to many students. Being an educator is not a duty to be taken lightly. As an educator you must also be looking to heighten your own skills as an educator by either getting advice from your colleagues or going to learning conferences to hone your skills. (Certification, 2023)
.
Leadership, Collaboration, and Technology Goals
As a professional we must understand that even though we always tell our students they always have room to improve, that so do we. We must always strive to better our selves so that we can better the students in turn. For collaboration I will work with my colleagues and higher ups for more hands on experience and wisdom. I will also work hard to have collaboration in my classroom and to make it fun. I have a personal goal to at least have one fun collaboration day a week so that the students are not burned out of learning plainly. We have to adapt in order to keep the students wanting to learn in a good environment. Using technology within the classroom can excel the students forward, but it can also hinder if the right rules or boundaries are not set in place. Kids will be kids and they will test the boundaries to see what they can do, and as an educator you must be ready and try to predict and prevent.
Expectations of the Teaching Profession
My expectations of the teaching profession were mostly blown out of the water once I learned about the principles of teaching. Learning about the principles and seeing what my other fellow graduate students have said about their own teaching experience has renewed my excitement and determination to teach students. I already had a big expectation that an educator had to stay on top of their training in order to be a good educator, but I was not expecting the many more ways that an educator must better themselves constantly through the principles.
