According to Hinduism, to go against dharma leads to bad karma, while living according to dharma brings good
karma. Explain why this is true in Hinduism.
To go against dharma leads to bad karma, while living according to
dharma brings good karma is true in hinduism because this is the ideology of their religion. Dharma means
religious values while karma means the result of your actions. The people who go against their religion, the result of
their actions will be bad karma and if they follow their religion the result of their actions will be good.
6. Google Maps Tour
How do all of these points relate to the topic of the lesson? What do they have in common? In the space below, write 1-2
paragraphs discussing the relationship among the locations on the map.
Standards: RH.9-10.2
Each of these points relate to the topic of the lesson because each one is the original country, state, city, etc; where each
religion was developed or a
lot of the people in the area are of that religion. Based on what I have read all of these
religions seem to have developed around the same time somewhere between 1200 BCE and 700 CE. Hinduism and
Buddhism were both first developed in Northern India, meanwhile Judiasm, Christianity and Islam were devolped in Middle
East so they were all in the same area ig even though not exactly. Altogether each religion started with a founding man that
received God’s word. There’s usually a key text that defines man’s relationship with God and there are certain ways of
living and worshiping for each religion.
7. Journal
Write one to two paragraphs discussing your thoughts and prior knowledge on the question prompt: “
Does religious
freedom exist?”
Standards: RH.9-10.1, RH.9-10.2, WHST.9-10.2, WHST.9-10.9
Personally I think yes there can be true equality amongst cultures. We should all respect each other's beliefs and not hate
on other races just because they don't look like us. Not everyone is the same and once we all understand that we can all be
equal. Like just because this dude's white and i'm black doesn't mean I have to judge him and be like "oh your white you can't
hang with me". Personally I think that isn't acceptable and I would never want someone to treat me that way so I wouldn't do
that, but that's just me
personally. You might want someone to change but just because you want them to doesn’t mean
they will. You can’t force anyone to change if they don’t feel like bringing themselves to it. They have to want it for
themselves and set their minds to it and it’ll most definitely take some time. All cultures have something important to them
whether that be traditions, history, values, symbols, boundaries or purpose. Every culture has these things in common no
matter their color, race, religion, beliefs, etc;.. So yes there can be true equality as long as we can all learn to accept others
for what they are.
8. Think about what you already know about to answer the Supporting Question.
Write about any connections you have made (text to self, text to text, text to world).
Why do you think it is important to learn about this concept?
Remember to cite your examples with evidence from the lesson.
Standards: RH.9-10.1, RH.9-10.2
There are many connections that can be made to this question. One I think that stands out from the rest is racism. This
can go for anyone of the race. There’s a vast majority of black people, mexicans and many other races who are referred
to as different racial slurs. Personally I think religious freedom begins with this. I think it all starts here. If we can’t accept

others for their race or color then why would we accept them for their beliefs/religion.? If something as simple as
someone being another color than you can be discriminated against then personal religious beliefs are definitely
something to be discriminated against.
