Module Two Question 1 Describe one of the beliefs and values of the Navajo as illustrated in your readings. An example of a Navajo belief and value illustrated in the reading is that of a legally sanctioned Peacemakers Court. This infuses the traditional idea of conflict resolution with the actual legal court system. The idea is to talk things out based upon traditional Navajo beliefs rather than just a generic court mandated decision. Module Two Question 2 Describe one way in which the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs and values into the societal structure on the reservation since regaining some autonomy in the 1970's. The Indian Religious Freedom Act of 1978 is one way in which the Navajo incorporated their beliefs and values into the societal structure on the reservation since regaining some autonomy in the 1970's. This act allowed the Navajo to practice religious or spiritual beliefs that they feel will influence their health that had been previously frowned upon by past US government administrations. With this act healthcare systems became more amicable to work with these values (within the nation) and some even have buildings built specifically for traditional healing. Module Two Question 3 What beliefs and values can be found in your culture? How do these beliefs and values influence your day-to-day life? Some common beliefs and values found in my own culture are the literal and metaphorical value of "the dollar" as well as practicing patience. These have been instilled within me by family and more specifically my father. They cause me to consider my options from simple tasks such as making time to do laundry to managing my retirement savings. Both almost seem intertwined with the motto "slow and steady wins the race". Module Two Question 4 Adopt the social science perspective to create a list of questions about this issue. Write at least two questions each from the point of view of a psychologist, a sociologist, and an anthropologist.
1. Other than identity theft for financial gain, and specifically towards relationships (love), what are the most common causes for the use of fake identities? 2. Is how the internet governed ultimately responsible for cyber bullying? 3. At what age do children/teens/adults create their first social media account. 4. Does a countries technological laws play a major role in how people connect to social media. 5. Are communities that live offline (people who live in nature) completely immune to the general stresses of the internet world? 6. Do Americans use TikTok the same way their Chinese neighbors use Douyin? *Douyin is the firewall/chinese government regulated version of TikTok, same app but not connected to the rest of the world*
