My philosophy of education is that all children are different and must have a stable
educational environment to thrive not only mentally but also physically, emotionally, and
socially. It is my passion to form a supportive classroom where each student can show their full
potential without doubt. I learned not every teaching style works for every child so I will take the
time to get to know each child in my classroom so that I can meet all their needs.
My personal values and beliefs around teaching and learning are that all children want to
learn, if they have someone that's going to take their time to teach them and have patience. I
strongly believe positive teaching strategies prepare the children mentally and emotionally, also
broaden their will power to succeed and strive for best. The beliefs of an effective teacher are
timed properly, well thought out, effective, clear, and fair. I believe that learners are responsible
for their own learning.
I strongly believe most children learn through play , free play gives the children a chance to
express themselves. So, when planning for the children's daily routine you have to take that into
consideration.
When I'm making my class lesson plans for the week, I try to make most of the activities
something fun that involves them interacting with their classmates and is educational. For
example, my class participates in an active read aloud every day and then completes a group
discussion. With the active read aloud I let the class vote on the book for the day that goes with
the theme of the week, then we complete a group discussion about the book that strengthen their
social skills. Afterwards the children go to the table and draw their summary of the story that
strengthens the fine motors, sometimes we even act the book out.
