Module Two Question 1 Describe one of the beliefs and values of the Navajo as illustrated in your readings. One belief that the Navajo value is how they govern themselves when it comes to the legal and justice systems. They preserve the right to choose their own leaders. Not only do they elect their own leaders, but they also outline their responsibilities in each branch of government. Module Two Question 2 Describe one way in which the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs and values into the societal structure on the reservation since regaining some autonomy in the 1970's. One way the Navajo have incorporated their beliefs into the societal structure is when it comes to the education structure. In the beginning, the U.S government had built schools and forced European education and culture onto the Navajo. They incorporated their beliefs into the education system by mandating schools teach Navajo culture and language. Module Two Question 3 What beliefs and values can be found in your culture? How do these beliefs and values influence your day-to-day life? Growing up in a semi-catholic environment, I was raised to always do the right thing and treat others with respect. I was also allowed to explore other cultures and find out what best fits me and bring me happiness. These values play a role in my everyday life, as well as how I raise my own children. I allow them to explore their feelings and beliefs, but under a watchful eye. Module Two Question 4 Adopt the social science perspective to create a list of questions about this issue. Write at least two questions each from the point of view of a psychologist, a sociologist, and an anthropologist. 1. How well developed should a child's mind and social skills be before they start to
engage in multiplayer online video games? 2. Do some people prefer living in the cyber world, as opposed to a physical world? 3. Can the social skills developed in a cyber environment be used in a physical environment? 4. Do the social skills of both the adults and children suffer in a negative way when it comes to switching from a cyber environment to a physical interaction? 5. Did the introduction of online multiplayer video games negatively impact the moods and sanity of humans since its arrival? 6. In the future, will the advancement of video games negatively impact the social skills of humans?
