Attracting people towards the company initiates with the employee brand. If the employer is attractive from the aspect of providing a lot of advantages, then the process of recruitment and selection becomes easier for the fact that people will be attracted to work in that particular company or organization.
- Managing the performance or performance management is important for ensuring that the employee will be still engaged in the work and also productive at the same time in the work what he or she is doing. Top-notch performance management involves the leadership skills to be efficient enough and also set prominent and clear goals and also should be open to any kind of feedback. For example, if an employee is having difficulty in communicating. Then it is the responsibility of the HR manager to put him or her into such a program that will enhance the communication skills of that particular employee.
- One of the most important functions of the human resource manager is to enable the employees to develop the skills which they need in the future for enhancing productivity. This helps in bridging the gap between the workers of the organization and the workforce that is being required in the future. It also involves that the HR manager looks after the work activities of all the employees. For example, if an employee is having difficulty in communicating. Then it is the responsibility of the HR manager to put him or her into such a program that will enhance the communication skills of that particular employee.
- Maintaining industrial relations and cultivating relationships with the Labour union is another important function of the human resource manager. It is important to build a good relationship with the Labour union so that the employees stay satisfied with whatever rewards being given to them and also there is an absence of conflict between the employee and the employer.
- Since the employees work hard to earn their livelihood, the human resource manager needs to have a strategy as a part of a strategic management procedure for rewarding employees from time to time for the work that they do. Rewards not only include salary but also the growth of career opportunities, status, recognition, to provide performance appraisal, and so on. The rewards can be in terms of cash or kind.
