Introduction:

The longest and strongest bone in the human body is the femur which is the thigh bone. The femur head joins with the acetabulum to form the hip joint. The acetabulum is a concave socket found in the pelvic bone. The acetabulum has a C-shaped surface that is lined by hyaline cartilage. The hip joint is also called as coxal joint which is a ball-and-socket joint. The hip joint functions to support the weight of the body during standing.
