What is the objective of a manufacturing operation, and what are some of the details in meeting this objective?

The objective of a manufacturing process and details involved in meeting this objective.
Explanation of Solution
When there is need ,there is a way. That’s the gist of a manufacturing process.Certain demands or need is to be met and for this certain processes were created that led to the flourishment of manufacturing industry. Mobility led to the manufacture of automobile industry, railways etc.
Now the sole roadmap of how the process is to be executed goes into the hand of an manufacturing engineer. The process starts with the materials to be selected for application in the practical scene. For this a manufacturing engineer consults certain standards data and value given by ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) for e.g. A 53/A53M-02 and A 106-02a are used by piping engineer for pipe material selection.
The engineer further looks into the processes involved in producing the specified product. For this he consults a production engineer who comes up with ways of minimal material wastage and efficient equipment for production. Finally, the product is supplied to the market for feedback and eventually is either produced in batches or in bulk quantities.
