Explanation of Solution

Groups:

It is a situation where two or more individuals come together and operate together to achieve a common goal and objectives. There are two types of groups; formal and informal.

Five stages of group development:

  • The forming stage where the group is unclear about the purpose, structure, and leadership. It is similar to an ice-breaking session.
  • The storming stage where the group faces all kinds of conflicts and finally at the end the group will have a clear view of the hierarchy of leadership.
  • The norming stage is the situation where the group normalizes the accepted behavior and decides on the common set of expectations.
  • The performing stage is the group where the actual objective of the group is pursued after everyone understands the goal at hand.
  • The adjourning stage is the group the conclusion of activities takes place with all deliverables are provided and the group prepares for disbanding themselves.
