A suture is a fibrous type of joint that mainly occurs in the skull. The sutures aresynarthroses means they are immovable joints. Sutures are classified into three types: serrate, lap and plane sutures.The suture is usually connected by a fibrous connective tissue.The sutures are connected to each other by the Sharpey's fibers. These joints do not have a joint cavity.
