To review:
The output of the ATP (Adenosine triphosphate) in the mitochondria having the greater number of cristae as compared to the mitochondria having a low number of cristae.
Introduction:
The mitochondria are the cell organelle which is present in the eukaryotic cell. The production of the energy currency of the cell takes place inside the mitochondria. Therefore, this organelle is also called the powerhouse of the cell. The mitochondria comprise the two membranes. The outer membrane is uniseriate with no perforations and the inner membrane is highly folded. The mitochondrial inner membrane has a very large surface area due to being folded up into numerous cristae. This conformation of the membrane plays a very important role in maximizing the overall efficiency of the electron transport chain.
