Introduction:

The idea of natural selection is a key component of Darwin's theory of evolution. Natural selection is a process in which the environment itself chooses particular physical characteristics, or phenotypes, which are then passed on to offspring in order to improve their ability to adapt to changing conditions. Oncology may be approached using the same idea. Resistance to conventional cancer treatments is brought on by malignancies in various microhabitats.
