Introduction: Carbon fixation is a process through which photosynthetic organisms such as plants turn inorganic carbon into organic compounds. Photosynthesis is a prominent example of carbon fixation, although chemosynthesis is another form of carbon fixation. It takes place in the absence of sunlight.
