1. Spaniards clearly value their family, friendship and their culture. They accompany their gatherings with delicious food and tasty treats like the tapas and the churros con chocolate. Even though the sobremesa is slowly disappearing due to time constrain, technology and changes in Spain. The sobremesa and the siesta are traditions that need to be rescued. There is nothing better than to spend time with one’s family and friends.
2. No, technology alone can’t be blame for the diminishing of the sobremesa. It is capitalism what is causing it to diminish. We have no time to spend with our families now everybody is on the go.
3. Businesses don’t close in larger cities because they have to provide services to the visitors and tourists who come to visit the cities. They will lose money and visitors if they close during lunch.
