Chapter 8, Problem 4E

For the Southern Hemisphere:

1. a. Put an object at the bottom of your desk and align Figure 8-4 of your lab manual as in Figure 8-3, where y indicates the object.
2. b. Draw a dashed line from the South Pole in Figure 8-4 directly toward the object at the bottom of the desk.
3. c. Repeat step b, but this time draw a solid line toward the object at the top of the desk while you simultaneously rotate your lab book in the direction of Earth’s rotation shown for the Southern Hemisphere in Figure 8-4.
