Summary Introduction

Introduction

When psychologists study why we do certain things, they are really asking about our motives. The answers generally fit into one of three categories. First, we have needs. Our bodies need food and drink, among other things. These needs lead to drives. When our bodies need food, we are driven to eat. Finally, we have incentives. Incentives are external rewards we might obtain for satisfying some of our wants and needs.

Explain the answer according to question. Q ABC Model: List (3 points) and describe (6 points) each of the 3 parts of the ABC model. Answer: The ABC Model is used to understand and address responsive behaviours in dementia care. It consists of three parts: Antecedent, Behaviour, and Consequence. Antecedent (A) - The trigger or cause that leads to the responsive behaviour. In Arun's case, it may be the perceived theft of his belongings or a recent change in his routine, leading him to believe he must guard his possessions. Behaviour (B) - The observable reaction or response. Arun is refusing to leave his room, expressing paranoia, and making false accusations against staff and his sister. Consequence (C) - The result or impact of the behaviour. Arun's behaviour has caused distress for himself and Parminder, social withdrawal, and a decline in participation in recreational activities.
