Concept introduction:
A covalent compound is formed when two nonmetals having a small difference in electronegativity interact with each other. The electrons are shared between the elements in a covalent bond.
Anionic compound is formed bytwo oppositely charged ions that are held together by electrostatic forces of attraction. The complete transfer of valence electrons to a nonmetal from a metal resultsin the formation of oppositely charged ions, and consequently, an ionic bond.
