Concept introduction:

The pelvis is made up of four bones and it supports and protects the viscera in the inferior part of the ventral body cavity. The four bones that form the pelvis are coccyx, sacrum, and the left and right ossa coxae. The left and right ossa coxae denote the pelvic girdle.
