Solid State Drive (SSD):

The solid state drive is a non-volatile secondary storage, which stores data on solid state flash memory and it contains individual processor to manage and control its storage.

  • The flash memory is a type of non-volatile secondary storage. Therefore, it can be electrically erased and rewritten.
  • Its configuration is highly enhanced to deliver the performance of read and write operations for both the data requests such as sequential and random data.

Magnetic hard disks:

The magnetic hard disk is also referred as hard disk drive (HDD), which is used to store and retrieve the data, information, and instruction.

  • It is circular platters that utilize the magnetic particles to store the data. The platter is coated with the magnetic materials and it can use the longitudinal recording or perpendicular recording, and number of bits which is stored in storage medium is density.
