Summary Introduction

To determine: The conformations of the β subunit present on the left and on the back right if the β subunit in the front center of the given figure is present in confirmation 2.

Introduction: ATP synthesis in cells occurs with the help of the enzyme, ATP synthase as it combines an inorganic phosphate molecule with ADP. During ATP synthesis, conformational changes in the β subunit of the enzyme ATP synthase occur and the enzyme can be found in three conformational states. All the three β subunits in the enzyme alter between three conformational states based on their interaction with the γ subunit.
