Introduction:

The surface appearance or marking of bones varies significantly. It depends upon the location and function in the body. Many anatomists describe the bone markings by using several common terms. These common terms establish the relationship between the bones and the associated soft tissue.

There are three kinds of bone surface markings:

• Articulation
• Projections
• Holes
