OLE DB:
OLE DB stands for “Object Linking and Embedding Database”.
- It is an application programming interface used to encapsulate data-server functions.
- It was designed to access relational databases as well as accessing other data types.
- OLE DB can be accessed by the programmers, using programs like C, C# and Java. But cannot accessed by VB (Visual Basic) developers and scripting languages.
ADO:
ADO stands for “ActiveX Data Objects”.
- It is an application programming interface used to access a relational database or non-relational database using windows applications.
- It contains a set of objects which can be utilized by OLE DB to access users of VB, Jscript, and VBScript.
