Introduction: The integumentary system includes skin which is the largest organ of the body that covers fully. The skin is made up of multiple layers of cells and tissues, namely the outer epidermis, the middle dermis, and the inner hypodermis layers. The epidermis contains cells like keratinocytes, Langerhans cells, melanocytes, and Merkel cells. The function of the epidermis is to act as a barrier against pathogens.
