This week we will be building a regression model conceptually for our discussion assignment. Consider your current workplace (or previous/future workplace if not currently working) and answer the following set of questions. Expand where needed to help others understand your thinking: What are other potential dependent variables in this context? Consider your dependent variable of choice. What are all the factors you can think of that can help predict it?
Do you think Ms. Browne Sanders had the basis for a sexual harassment suit? Why?             I believe that Ms. Browne Sanders did in fact have the basis for a sexual harassment suit because her claims of retaliation from management after coming out about the verbal abuse and sexual harassment from her superiors, to me, are proven by her being let go shortly after bringing them to light. Not only that, but the jury found her case compelling enough to award her the $11 million (Sandomir, 2007). Sexual harassment cases like this are hard to make due to the reliance on the credibility of those involved (the victim and the perpetrator), one of which has it in his best interest to deny the claims outright. This leaves the victim in a vulnerable situation where retaliation can occur, such as this, because of the “he said she said” nature of the issue. A study done in 2023 showed the decline of women who report their harassment from 66% the previous year down to 59% (Cox, 2023). This was…

Sexual harassment cases often use circumstantial evidence rather than direct proof, as harassment usually doesn't leave much concrete evidence. The Employee Rights Attorney Group article explains that harassment is illegal if it changes an employee's work conditions, making it difficult to do their job. Browne Sanders’ case cleared this bar, as she lost her job after reporting the harassment. Her claims were credible because a jury determined that the Knicks organization failed to address the issue appropriately. Retaliation can also…
