Question
Chapter 7, Problem 3DAA
Summary Introduction
To determine: How did a high-fat diet affect brown fat.
Concept introduction:
Triglycerides are a type of fat molecules. There are two types of tissues that stores the fat molecules: white fat and brown fat. White fat generates energy in the form of ATP. Brown fat generates energy as well as heat. The heat is generated due to the presence of thermogenin, a transport protein in the inner mitochondrial membrane that allows the hydrogen ions to move across it.
