Concept explainers
To explain: The types of cancers that can be easily detected and those that cannot be easily detected by using PET scan technology.
Introduction: Positron Emission Tomography (PET) scans are used for creating a 3D image of the internal structure of the body. It can be used to study the size, shape, and texture of the cells or tissues at a location inside the body. PET scans can detect the health of the cells. These scans are used to detect abnormal states of cells such as cancer.
To explain: Whether the ability to detect cancer using a PET scan is related to the state of hypoxia.
