Introduction:

The eukaryotic cell contains an organelle called peroxisome, which is responsible for the catabolism of several biomolecules like long fatty acids, amino acids, and polyamines via enzymatic reactions. The enzymes are synthesized into the cytosol by the ribosome and then transported into peroxisome. Peroxisome serves as the oxidation-reduction center of the cell.
