Summary Introduction

Introduction:

The transfer of genetic material between two microorganisms through cellular contact is termed as conjugation. The transfer is mediated by formation of sex pili from ${\text{F}}^{\text{+}}$ bacterial cell which gets attached to the ${\text{F}}^{\text{-}}$ cell. Sex pili provide contact to recipient cell from donor cell, to stimulate the transfer process.
