The rate of transmission heat gain occurs (UA) is 120W/°C.

The refrigeration capacity (Qref) is 11 kW.

Calculation:

Refer the Table A-2, “Ideal-gas specific heats of various common gases”, for the average temperature 15°C.

The value of density of air (ρair) is 1.2kg/m3

The specific heat (cp) air is 1.0kJ/kg°C.

Calculate the mass of the air (mair) in the truck.

  mair=ρair×νtruck=ρair×(l×b×h)truck

  mair=(1.2kg/m3)×(12m×2.3m×3.5m)truck=115.92kg116kg

Calculate the amount of heat removed from the truck.

  Qcooling,air=(maircpΔT)=maircp(T1T2)

Calculate the average temperature in the truck during precooling.
