Blood clotting is important to prevent the blood loss. Platelets are important in preventing blood loss. They involved in clotting process. Platelets are formed elements and presence in blood cells in large number.
Prothrombin and fibrinogen are plasma protein which are formed in liver and later secreted in blood also involved in blood clotting process. Vitamin K, calcium ions are also essential factor in blood clot formation. Fibrin is a long thread like structure which form mesh like network to prevent the blood loss. It is activated form of fibrinogen.
