To calculate:Amount of each type of vinegar to make total of $200mL$ vinegar with $6\%$ acetic acid.

Calculation:

Let’s assume in a mixing $x$ ml of first type acid is used and $y$ ml of second type acid is used.

Now, total amount in final mixture is $200mL$ , $\therefore x+y=200$ …..(i)

The part of acetic acid from first type is, $5x$

The part of acetic acid from second type is, $6.5y$

Now, the final required amount is, $5x+6.5y=6\times 200$ , $5x+6.5y=1200$ ….(ii)

Now, multiply equation (i) with 5 and subtract it from (ii),

  $\therefore 5x+6.5y-5(x+y)=1200-1000$

  $\therefore y=133.33$ ml

Substitute value of $y$ into equation (i), $\therefore x=200-133.33=66.67$ ml

Therefore, first is used $66.67$ ml and second is used $133.33$ ml
