Interpretation:

Three organic components of the bone matrix are to be determined.

Concept introduction:

The bone cells are present inside the matrix which is mineralized. The matrix of the bone contains both organic and inorganic compounds. The organic compound makes up about 20% of the wet weight of the bone. Collagen is the primary constituent of the organic matrix. The inorganic matrix makes up almost 60-70% of the wet weight of the bone. This part stores almost 99% of the body calcium, 85% of the phosphorous and 60% of the sodium and potassium.
