To examine:  Whether the statement “protein enzymes are thought to greatly outnumber ribozymes in modern cells because they can catalyze a much greater variety of reactions and all of them have faster rates than any ribozyme” is true or false.

Introduction:

Ribozymes also known as catalytic RNA are ribonucleic acid enzymes (RNA enzymes) and are found in ribosome. They catalyze the linking of amino acids together to form polypeptide chains, help in RNA splicing, and RNA biosynthesis.
