To round numbers to specific decimal places, use a statement like
double y = Math.floor(x * 10 + 0.5) / 10;
which rounds x to the tenths position (i.e., the first position to the right of the decimal point), or
double y = Math.floor(x * 100 + 0.5) / 100;
which rounds x to the hundredths position (i.e., the second position to the right of the decimal point). Write an application that defines four methods for rounding a number x in various ways:
- 1. roundTolnteger(number)
- 2. roundToTenths(number)
- 3. roundToHundredths(number)
- 4. roundToThousandths(number)

- Serendipity Booksellers has a book club that awards points to its customers based on the number of books purchased each month. The points are awarded as follows: If a customer purchases no books, he or she earns 0 points If a customer purchases 1 through 5 books, he or she earns 5 points for each book. If a customer purchases 6 through 10 books, he or she earns 10 points for each book. If a customer purchases 11 or more books, he or she earns points equal to 20 points for each book. (Use Python) Use the Design Recipe to write the function customer_rewards which consumes the number of books purchased, and returns the total points. Include a docstring! Write 3 assert_equal statements to test your function.arrow_forwardThe company discounted used cars pays their employees according to this chart: 250$ per months plus 50$ per car sold. - Computer Fundamentals and Programming 2 Write a program that determines a student’s grade. The program will accept 3 scores and computes the average score. Determine the grade based on the following rules: - If the average score is equal or greater than 90, the grade is A. - If the average score is greater than or equal to 70 and less than 90, the grade is B. - If the average score is greater than or equal to 50 and less than 70, the grade is C. - If the average score is less than 50, the grade is F. It should then display the item’s retail price. For example: • If an item’s wholesale cost is 5.00 and its markup percentage is 100 percent, then the item’s retail price is 10.00.• If an item’s wholesale cost is 5.00 and its markup percentage is 50 percent, then the item’s retail price is 7.50. The program should have a method named calculateRetail that receives the wholesale cost and the markup percentage as arguments and returns the retail price of the item.arrow_forwardRemaining Time: 54 minutes, 49 seconds. * Question Completion Status: QUESTION 19 Write a Java program that prompts the user to enter the School Grade Level of a student and then calculate their discount amount in the regular fees structure offered during this pandemic situation. - Background: Game Rules The rules to the (dice) game of Pig: You will need 2 dice. To Play: a. The players each take turns rolling two die. b. A player scores the sum of the two dice thrown (unless the roll contains a 1): If a single number 1 is thrown on either die, the score for that whole turn is lost (referred to as “Pigged Out”). A 1 on both dice is scored as 25. c. During a single turn, a player may roll the dice as many times as they desire. The score for a single turn is the sum of the individual scores for each dice roll. d. The first player to reach the goal score wins unless a player scores higher subsequently in the same round. Therefore, everyone in the game must have the same number of turns.
