To compare: The processes of intramembranous ossification and endochondral ossification.
Introduction: In the human skeletal system, new bones are produced by hardening of cartilage and this process is called the bone formation or ossification. As a person grows, the cartilages will get replaced by accumulation of calcium and phosphate salts. The process of ossification is classified into intramembranous and endochondral ossification. Both these processes begin with mesenchymal precursors and transform into different types of bones.
