The Integumentary System Assignment
The integumentary system is a great example of the hierarchy within the levels of anatomical organization. For this assignment, you are going to apply what you learned about these levels, specifically to the integumentary system.
Below is a visual tool (you are not required to present your answer in that format) to guide you through this assignment. Your job will be as follows:
Fill in all of the structures within the integumentary system that fit into each level or organization.
For example, one of the structures that would fit into the "tissue level" might be areolar connective tissue.
Describe how the components of each level fit together to create the next higher level in 2-3 sentences.
For example, how does the buildup of the cellular level lead to the development of the tissue level?
You will be compiling the components of the cellular, tissue, organ, and organ system levels, not the chemical or organism levels.
