Introduction:

Receptors are the chemical structures which are composed of protein. The receptors receive and transduce signals into and out of the cell. There are three categories of cell surface receptors: ion channel linked receptors, G (G stands for guanine-nucleotide binding) protein-linked receptors, and enzyme-linked receptors.
