Interpretation: The plane of symmetry should be identified for the given molecule by using its structure.
Concept Introduction:
Plane of symmetry: The molecules that has chiral centers but also has an internal plane of symmetry. This renders the molecule is achiral it does not have an enantiomers and not rotate plane polarized light. It is molecule similar phenomenon found in certain two-head and two-tails cats.
The plane of symmetry is an imaginary plane that bisects molecules into haves that are mirror images of each other. For example the vertical plane that bisects the two same groups, the carbon atom and the hydrogen atom bisects the molecule into haves that are mirror images of each other.
To identify: The given set of the molecules rotated 1800 about a point and looking identical to the original.
