Here, we have:

  AC=7DC=9AC¯≅EC¯ and DC¯≅BC¯Also,∠ACB≅∠ECDΔACB≅ΔECD                  [By  SAS  congruence  rule]CPCTC  shows:AB¯≅ED¯Perimeter of ABCDE = 2(Perimeter of ΔABC)

Now, by triangle inequality theorem AB¯ measures between the difference of AC and BC , the sum of AC and BC .

The difference of the two given lengths is:

  9−7=2

The sum of the two given lengths is:

  9+7=16

Therefore, AB is between 2 and 16 so the perimeter will be in between:

  2+7+9=18 and 16+7+9=32

Now, the perimeter of ABCDE will be in between:

  2(18)=36 and 2(32)=64

Hence, the perimeter of ABCDE is 36<P<64 .
