The general functions of cell junctions.

Introduction:

Humans and animals are complex organisms made up of collection of cells that perform specific functions. These collections of cells are often referred to as tissues. Tissues arise from an embryonic origin and performs a specific physiological and structural role in an organ.

Transportation is an important function of cells that allows the nutrients to transport across the plasma membrane of the cells. Cell junctions are important factors in tissue cells that allow the transport of the nutrients and waste from the blood streams.
