Introduction: The skin is the chief organ of the integumentary system. It makes up for about 16 percent of the total body weight. It is also the place or region where the body communicates with the external environment. The skin, along with the integumentary system, forms the first line of defense against the hostile environment.

Summary Introduction

To determine: The reason why people tolerate summer heat less well but become more susceptible to heat-related illness on aging.

Introduction: Skin is made up of three layers namely epidermis, dermis, and hypodermis. Epidermis is the outermost layer while the hypodermis separates the skin from internal structures. In between the epidermis and hypodermis, dermis is present.
