To describe: The fluid mosaic model of cell membrane structure.
Concept introduction: Biological membranes are composed of a lipid bilayer with embedded protein. The cell membrane is a biological membrane that encases and holds the cytoplasm of the cell within it. The membranes of the cell are complex that is made up of repetitive units of lipids and proteins. The lipid bilayer marks the boundaries of the cell as well as allows selective substances into the cell.
