Introduction:

Muscles have thick and thin filament that play an important role in muscle contraction and they are made up of myosin and actin molecules respectively. In vertebrates, during the muscle contraction, myosin of thick filaments is extended to snatch the actin molecules of thin filaments that require more energy. The requirement of more energy results the muscle fatigue rapidly. Paramyosin is a structural protein that is present in the striated muscle in most of the invertebrates. It is present in the thick filaments and enables the muscles to sustain their contraction for a long time up to one month.
