Interpretation Introduction

Interpretation: The explanation as to how Raoult’s law and Henry’s law are used to specify the chemical potential of a component of a mixture has to be stated.

Concept introduction: According to Raoult’s law, the partial vapor pressure of a component $\text{A}$ is equal to the product of mole fraction of component $\text{A}$ and the partial vapor pressure of pure solvent.  Henry’s law states that the partial vapor pressure of a solute $\text{A}$ is directly proportional to the mole fraction of solute $\text{A}$.
