Chapter 5, Problem 33E
Summary Introduction
To analyze:
If the classes of adrenergic agent (alpha or beta, agonist or antagonist) could be used in the treatment of hypertension.
Introduction:
In binding with alpha, receptors, epinephrine and noepinephrine cause vasoconstriction of blood vessels, which increases blood pressure. By binding to beta, adrenergic receptors in the heart, epinephrine increases heart rate and the force of contraction, which together cause an increase in the blood pressure.
