Estrus cycle occurs in mammalian females. It comprises the recurring physiological changes that are induced by reproductive hormones. It occurs after sexual maturity and continues till death and is interrupted by anestrus phase or pregnancy. Some animals may display bloody vaginal discharge, but it often mistaken for menstrual cycle.
