Nervous tissue is discovered in the brain, spinal cord and nerves and is distinguished by the capacity to perform electrical signals called action potential. Nervous tissue consists of neurons and glia. Neurons are the conducting cells of nervous tissue. Glia is the support cells of the brain, peripheral nerves, and spinal cord. Glia nourishes, protect, and insulate neurons.
